To make sure your child is getting the proper nutrition a healthy diet of fresh fruit and vegetables with lots of dairy and healthy fat like nuts and olive oil is your best defense against vitamin deficiency. Don’t rely on vitamin supplements to do the whole job.

As always, your doctor can help you decide on the right vitamin supplements for your child. An excess of some vitamins can have adverse side effects and children will have a more severe reaction than adults. Remember, many childrens vitamins resemble candy so keep them out of reach and don’t forget the toothbrush after!
