Article 17: Day Three on VLCD

Yesterday was hard! Can I complain just a moment. If you read yesterday’s article you’re probably sick of it, but just really quick. I’ll paraphrase. I ended up in the mall food court surrounded by my kids’ lunch: Panda Express and Chick-Fil-A! Tell me that you would have broken. I think that most normal people would have! But, regardless of the severe temptation I should not have given in and I have made a promise to myself that I will not frequent the mall food court again until the diet is complete. It was too rough!
Today I got up and weighed myself. I went down even though I didn’t stick to plan yesterday. I’m now down to 163. That’s pretty cool. I was already mad enough that I broke and had non-approved chicken yesterday. (Panda Express and Chick-Fil-a both have amazingly tasty chicken, but none of it is HCG approved. They’ve GOT to learn some healthy cooking methods).
I went about my day normally. I took my HCG drops and my B-Total. Then I decided that I needed some sort of additional reminder of the protocol so I pulled up the HCG weight loss cure guide a supplemental guide to Dr. Simeons HCG cure protocol online. I read and read and read. It was good to be reminded of the basics; apparently I forget easily and quickly.
I’d heard or read most of it before, but a refresher is always good. Maybe if I read a bit of protocol update every day I’ll be less likely to fall off the wagon again. I definitely want to take advantage of all the weight loss possible while on the diet. I don’t want to waste my efforts!
I took my second set of HCG drops before noon. I made turkey chili for lunch (lots of fresh tomatoes). I always find that any soup I make with fresh tomatoes in it turns out really tasty. And so far that’s so true when it comes to the recipes in the HCG cookbook! I’ll also give you a tip regarding the Melba Toast. Try the Spicy 3 Pepper flavor. They’re amazing. I think I’ll like them even when I’m not on the diet. They’re definitely WAY better than the original. I had a snack in the afternoon…an apple (Gala are my favorite).
For dinner I had grilled chicken seasoned with Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning (after I took my HCG, of course). The Creole seasoning is a classic that we should all keep stocked in our pantries. If you don’t love it; I’ll be shocked. With the chicken we had asparagus and for dessert we had strawberries. I made enough for all of us since the kids really like chicken and I thought they should attempt to eat asparagus. They’ve never had it before. It didn’t go over very well with them, but I thought it was pretty good. I drank a ton of water because I had to stay up late to work and I couldn’t have any type of snack. So that’s probably a good thing. Even though I’ll be waking up to go to the bathroom constantly tonight, I’m sure!
