Article 18: Day 4 on HCG’s Low Calorie Diet

So off topic just a tinge is the fact that prior to starting the diet I did a lot of research on HCG Diet Direct. I even set up a google alert so I’d hear everything there was to hear about it all. And I got a google alert recently about something that just confirmed what a good decision I made when I chose HCG Diet Direct as my HCG provider and adviser. They’re listed as #1 in the diet and weight loss category on Ranking.com and they’re also given a 10 out of 10 possible points on the TrustGauge.com scale. And that’s a big deal. I totally called Lisa to let her know to pass the info along to her husband (he was a cynic when we decided to do this).

So on to the good stuff! Day 4 on the HCG very low calorie diet actually means I’m on Day 6 of the diet. (The first two days are “loading” days). Loading days are days when you’re required to eat a lot of high calorie, high fat foods while taking the HCG three times daily as required throughout the diet. It helps your body absorb it and have it in the system during the low calorie portion of the program.

So…instead of saying Day 4 I’ll say it’s Day 6! I got up and weighed myself. I went up, dang it! I’m at 164 pounds now. It’s only fair, I suppose. I did fall off the wagon on Saturday (only for 5 minutes, but it was 5 minutes that involved Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express and that’s substantial even if it’s only a few bites). As punishment I’m no longer allowed in the mall food court until the diet is complete. I’m honest enough to admit that I’m not strong enough to sit and watch the kids eat their lunches and stick to water. Yikes! Don’t hate me; at least I admit it!

So I took my HCG and drank several glasses of water throughout the morning. Then I took my HCG again and started to think about making lunch. I had packaged up a bunch of individual serving sized packages of the chili I made so I decided to go with one of those. I warmed one up and whipped out the Spicy 3 Pepper crackers that are so amazing. I decided to cut up my apple and drip lemon on it. I heard this mentioned in some of the HCG diet reviews. It was really, really good.

I went to the store and bought these huge plastic cups so that I can cart them around the house with me during the day. I think it helps me drink more water. So I think I’m doing pretty good on that one aspect of the diet. I tried a new recipe for dinner. It was Rosemary and Chicken. But I messed it up. I didn’t notice the whole “marinate” step until it was definitely too late to marinate. So it wasn’t surprising that this wasn’t my favorite HCG meal. I’ll have to try it again and follow the instructions!

The other “new” thing I tried today was Red Zinger tea. I’m still struggling to find an herbal tea that I can get attached to; so far no dice. This one was better than Green Tea, but nothing I’d smile about. I’ll have to check out some more HCG diet reviews and see if there’s some type of herbal tea out there that everyone loves. Too bad I can’t just substitute hot chocolate, but that would be defeating the entire purpose.
