Burning Belly Fat, Why Ab Machines Can’t do it Alone
Posted by Ricardo D Argence at Mar 10th, 2009 in Nutrition
Have you witnessed an ab machine infomercial? They will always have a man with washboard abs, or a woman who looks like a supermodel demonstrating the machines. The psychology of infomercials is to put the idea in your head that you can look like the people in the commercial if you buy the machine, that is why they do not show full figured people using the equipment. Naturally, they end the infomercial with “satisfied customers” who swear they lost weight purely because of the product.
I don’t doubt that these people lost weight using ab machines. Ab machines do burn calories, but I will wager to say the ab machine wasn’t the only part of their workout. They probably engaged in other routines like running and cardiovascular exercises. More than likely, they also changed their eating habits.
The ab machine most commonly builds muscle in the abdominal area and burns calories. However, this not to implies that you may consume whatever you wish, in as great amount as you wish, whenever you wish.
It is true that ab exercisers will amass muscle around the midsection, yet a poor diet will lead to fat deposits over the muscle mass! Sumo wrestlers are a good example of this, they have a lot of muscle behind the fat. It is actually a firm exercise diet program that they follow to get the fat over the muscle.
Exercise and mental attitude are one part of the equation to losing belly fat. Another part that is just as important is proper diet.
Fat builds up in your system as you are sleeping, and that is why you should never eat anything directly before going to bed. Studies have found that people who eat a big breakfast and a sensible lunch and dinner have trimmer waistlines. This is because after they eat breakfast, they spend the rest of the day burning calories.
Food items that contain a lot of calories and that you should avoid include anything fried, along with carbonated drinks, and sweets. You can replace lots of unhealthy snacks with vegetables. Simultaneously you will be having more energy and consuming less calories.
I’d like to reiterate that there’s no fault in utilizing ab equipment and exercising abs, but folks shouldn’t get lofty ideas about the results. If you want to trim your waistline, know that though you do need to exercise all major muscles once in a while, Ab machines by themselves wont help you in reducing your waistline. Working off the fat around your waist requires the proper balance of appropriate eating and working out.

Hi, my name is Rebecca.
I’m new here, and was hoping to get some feedback from the health & weight loss pros!
I have been hired to make a weight loss - themed website, selling only one particular ebook. I must admit, the book is excellent, but I’m having serious trouble writing a persuasive sales copy, that health and weight loss-oriented website visitors would find convincing enough to make a purchase.
Thus, my request- would you be willing to help me to evaluate the sales letter I’ve written so far? Your help would be tremendously appreciated! I cannot pay you for that, but I can offer you a comlimentary copy of 76 No-Sugar Desserts, containing delicious stevia recipes and valued at $15, just for 2 minutes of your attention!
First: go to Of-Nutrition.com and read the entire sales letter for Weight Loss Cover-Up Exposed
Then go to my 10-question (yes/no) survey Access Code is: wlcu
When you finish the survey, a link to the bonus will show up.
Hoping to get a helping hand here.
Thankful - Rebecca

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at
good luck
If you stop doing any energetic activity and continue consuming the same food as before, your body will react. Your body had come to expect that it would need all those calories to excecize (aerobics) so it will store them (as fat) in anticipation of need.
If you gotta stop aerobics and don't want to get fat, find some other way to keep up your activity level, dancing, walking instead of driving, running up and down the stairs in your house, indian club swinging, table tennis, or something, and eat smaller and more frequent meals during the day.
I lost 15 pounds in three months by eating less food and taking a job that had me standing and walking all day, rather than sitting at a desk, even though I had quit going to the gym.
The advantages of aerobics are that when led by a good trainer, they will keep your heart rate up, burning calories, they will keep all your muscles active, keeping your body in a ballanced, fit shape, and they will make you stronger and help you find deeper recesses of energy and motivation, so when it is time to do something, you will be able to get up and do it, rather than putting it off.

Todd: If I were saying that because we don’t have a good scientific model, we should ignore the evidence, then I would agree with you. However I’m not saying that. I’m saying that we should stop claiming that we have a good scientific model, and instead admit that scientists are observing a dangerous trend but aren’t yet able to predict where it’s going nor what to do about it. I don’t deny that it may be the most pressing problem of our time.
A new study suggests a link between belly fat and the movement disorder restless legs syndrome, but more research is needed to confirm the association, experts say.
Fight fat with fat? The newest obesity theory suggests we may one day be able to do just that. Just like good and bad cholesterol, there apparently are good and bad types of body fat. Scientists until recently believed this good fat, which spurs the body …
