The Acai (pronounced ah-SIGH-ee) is a small edible berry produced by a palm tree known scientifically as Euterpe oleracea common in the floodplain areas of the Amazon River in Brazil. It is dark purple in color, pulpy and has a single seed in the middle. The Asai berry is rich in protein, minerals, B-vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids,fiber and oleic acid (omega-9) which is a beneficial fatty acid.
Brazilians have known the curative powers of the Asai berries for many years. They use it to treat digestive disorders and skin conditions. Weight loss has always been a topic that has a controversial aspect to it. Whenever a new diet or product comes out in the market, people wonder whether it actually works, or is just another fad. There is so much contradicting information that leave most of us confused and overwhelmed.
The biggest thing to hit the market in recent years is the small but now famously acclaimed Acai berry. This fruit that comes from Brazil contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids plus fiber and amino acids. All these substances work together to increase your metabolism which then causes you to burn more calories than you usually do. A lot of calories burned translates to weight loss.

If you have been having painful and strained bowel movements for 3 months or more, then you are constipated. Sometimes constipation is just a matter of changing ones diet, but there are also instances when it is a symptom of a serious disease such as lupus or cancer. Schedule of bowel movements vary from individual to individual, however if you eliminate only one to three times a week, then you are suffering constipation.
How do I know I am constipated?
If your stools are hard and dry and you have to strain to expel, then you are constipated. Other signs include sluggishness and bloat as well as long intervals between your bowel movements from a few days to a week.

Constipation (also known as Costiveness) is a condition in which a person has difficulty in expelling stool. It can be extremely uncomfortable and at times painful to defecate. The causes of constipation are varied.
So how do you stop constipation? Luckily there are natural herbal cures for constipation. Here are some of the natural remedies for constipation:
1.Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day. Large amounts of water aids quick digestion and enables easier bowel movement.
2.Add roasted black gram powder to chapatti made of wheat to water, including the husks, can enhance constipation relief.
3.Molasses which have high calorie content are also very good. Beware though as it has a strong taste and you’ll want to add fruit juice or milk to it when taking it. All you really need is two tablespoonfuls of blackstrap molasses just before sleeping at night.
