Diabetes is a disease of impaired carbohydrate metabolism that results from inadequate production or utilization of the hormone insulin. This vital substance is necessary to convert food into energy by facilitating the transfer of sugar or glucose from the bloodstream into the body’s cells
If blood glucose is elevated, the cells are essentially starved for energy, so the person is fatigued. Excess sugar spills into the urine, causing frequent urination and excessive thirst. When these signs become tangible, the disease may be diagnosed with a simple blood test to determine glucose levels in the blood. Elevated glucose levels lead to long-term complications of the disease by causing damage at the cellular level. Cells especially prone to damage are in the eyes, kidney, heart, blood vessels and nervous system. Other changes may occur in the connective tissue of the body, leading to thickening or stiffening of the fascia surrounding the muscles and organs leading to immobility.

Eternity is written on our hearts. That’s why we like stories like the one below, they remind us that life is more than the things we see…
“Aslan turned to them and said: “You do not look so happy as I mean you to be… the dream is ended: this is the morning” - As He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them… and for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before…” C.S. Lewis - The Last Battle

Your heartbeat is triggered by electrical impulses produced by the sinus node, a group of cells located within your right atrium. The electrical signal starts in your atria and works downward toward the ventricles. As it travels, it causes the individual chambers to contract, pumping blood throughout your body. This occurs between 60 and 100 times per minute.
A heart arrhythmia (HA) is a problem that either accelerates or slows your heartbeat. In many cases, they’re relatively mild and will not affect your standard of living. However, there are circumstances in which a problematic heartbeat can hamper the flow of blood to the rest of your body. If that happens, an arrhythmia can be potentially life-threatening. Below, we’ll describe a few types of arrhythmias that may require medical attention.

There are many things that will influence your choice in a heart rate monitor. You should take time when choosing a monitor since your ultimate goal should be to find one that is comfortable to use and accurate. You want to consider the style of the monitor and the features so you can get the one that will compliment your exercise style.
Heart rate monitors come with a variety of features. Some features are for convenience and some are to improve the quality of the monitor. Some monitors store information so you can keep records of your workout and track your progress. Some have timers that allow you to know how long you have stayed in your target heart rate zone. You can get monitors that are water resistant, include calculators and even those that double as a watch.

We all know now that Omega 3 fats are good for us. Science has established that Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are very important for our health. But what are good Omega 3 sources that we can use to add more Omega 3 fats to our diet?
There are a number of Omega 3 fats including DHA, EPA and ALA. The first 2 of these are primarily found in marine based sources. Fish are very high in DHA and EPA and this is sourced from the algae that fish eat.
On the other hand ALA is only a plant-based Omega 3 fatty acid.
DHA is the most important of these 3 Omega 3 fats. DHA is responsible in large part for our brain development.

Now that’s a good question. We all need more omega3 fatty acids in our diet, but should we eat fish. Fish is contaminated with mercury.
And if eating fish is a bad idea because of the mercury, how else do you get that Omega3 in your diet?
You can get Omega3 fatty acids from some plant sources, but by far the best place to find good quantities of the right type of Omega3 fats if fish.
However although it sounds good getting your Omega3 fatty acids through eating fish there is a problem. You see most, pretty much all, fish is contaminated with various chemicals that we, human beings, in the main, have put into their ocean.
The EPA says that there is mercury contamination in all fish.
