Essential oils are usually steam distilled from the flowers, roots, bark, or leaves of a plant. Essential oil is usually clear does not feel viscous to the touch, even though it is an oil. For many centuries, people have claimed to enjoy the health benefits of essential oils.
With pure essential oils, a little goes a long way because of their high level of concentration. This ensures they are easier on the pocketbook than lotions and creams that contain fillers. Millcreek Home Health and Hospice knows that diabetes can be a common condition amongst adults as they age. It is important that our senior citizen community pay special attention to nutrition and their eating habits. In an effort to support the elderly diabetic community and care givers, Millcreek Home Health and Hospice would like to post information about the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The ADA diet provides guidelines on what foods a diabetic person should eat to support their health and what foods to avoid as well.
Here are the ADA diet food group guidelines:

While exercise and diet are important aspects of getting in shape, they are usually not the rate limiting factors. In reality, the mental game is what throws most people off.
Unfortunately, most people simply forget about the mental game.
So here are 6 ways to get your mind in the weight loss zone:
1. Don’t wing it: You need to record the progress you are making. If you don’t do this you will tend to overlook your accomplishments as you look back on what you have done. And nothing is worse than short handing yourself.
2. Expect setbacks: You have been conditioned to avoid failure. Yet, the most successful entities in any field have the highest failure rates. Because of this paradox, many people don’t take the necessary leaps to achieve their goals.

Is your child overweight? Talking to them about the necessity to maintain a healthy weight can be touchy. It’s a sensitive subject but it’s important to teach your children about the importance of getting healthy and to encourage them to lose weight. Let them know you’re concerned about their weight but don’t harp on them and make them feel defensive. Show them that a healthy lifestyle will lead to a healthy weight for the whole family.
If you lead by example your children will see what they should be eating. When you prepare meals for your family, make sure they are well-balanced. Healthy eating should be a priority for the whole family. Don’t single out your overweight child. Purge your refrigerator of junk food and always keep healthy snacks on hand.
