Conceiving A Boy - Tips On Using Ovulation Prediction Kits

In this article we look at ways of helping couples when they are trying to find a way of how to conceive a boy naturally. Certainly knowing when the woman is about to start ovulating is crucial, especially if they want to ensure that the sperm carrying the male gene to reaches the egg to fertilize it first. One such way for them to predict when the woman is ovulating is through them using prediction kits.
In fact ovulation prediction kits are proving very popular as a way of being able to detect the exact time period when a woman has begun to ovulate. The main advantage of using an ovulation prediction kit (OPK) is that it will tell the woman when she is about to start ovulating before it has even begun. These kits are able to detect the increased production of Luteinizing hormone within her uterus and this generally takes place around 36 hours before ovulation.
There are two types of ovulation prediction kits which can be used today for predicting when ovulation is about to occur. A couple can use either the test strip method or the midstream method. Both of which work in the same way, but the way in which they are used differs. With the test strip method the device is dipped into a container with the woman’s urine in it and is kept there for a number seconds. Whereas with the midstream method the woman needs to hold the device under the stream of urine when she goes to the toilet. Normally it takes around 5 minutes of the urine coming into contact with the midstream device before a reading will be provided.
There are a number of things that a couple can do when using ovulation prediction kits so that they can better determine when the woman’s ovulating time has begun. Below are just a few tips which a couple may find useful if they intend to use an ovulation prediction kit to help when they are trying with how to conceive a boy.
Tip 1 - To obtain a better idea of when to use a ovulation prediction test the couple should also use a chart for recording the woman’s body’s basal temperature. Using this chart will then help them to look back and see when ovulation is taking place normally.
Tip 2 - Although a couple may think it is a waste of time but actually carrying out the tests more than once a day is a good idea as well. The couple need to be aware that the increase in LH (Luteinizing Hormone) only occurs in the body for a short period of time and doing the test say twice each day will hopefully mean that you don’t miss this event when it occurs.
Tip 3 - It is vital that each test you carried out is done at the same time each day and it does not necessarily have to be done first thing in the morning. You can do it at any time of the day, just as long as you do it at the same time each day on the days following the first test. Keeping to set times through out each day increases your chances of seeing when more of the Luteinizing Hormone is being produced by the body.
Tip 4 - Also you need to continue carrying on testing the urine with the ovulation prediction kits until you begin to see an increase in the production of the Luteinizing Hormone. As soon as this occurs then in order for the couple to increase their chances to conceive a boy they need to have intercourse with 36 hours.
