Put a little Witch Hazel on a ball of cotton and place it on the rectal area. Bleeding stops and pain is relieved when doing this shrinks the hemorrhoids.

Always see your doctor if you happen to see blood in your stool or on the toilet paper. Bleeding can be caused by a lot of other things that are more serious than hemorrhoids. Don’t make the assumption that hemorrhoids are the cause. The determination can be made by your doctor for further examination for cancer of the rectum or any other problem that may be underlying.

If the determination of your physician is that the hemorrhoids are causing the bleeding, then he can determine if they are bad enough to require the discussion of surgical measures. Most often, bleeding hemorrhoids are treatable at home. If you apply the methods listed above, the bleeding should cease. And they will also help to control the hemorrhoids.
