So you have decided to start trying for a baby? It is an exciting time full of expectation and excitement. It is no wonder that you are anxious to find out if you are pregnant. Sometimes waiting for a home pregnancy test is just not feasible. You want to know sooner than a pregnancy test would indicate your results. Do not worry. You are not out of luck. There are several signs that you might be pregnant that appear far before you can take a home pregnancy test.

Most pregnancies are associated with a lack of bleeding, but sometimes the earliest signs can be some light bleeding that occurs because of fertilization and implantation. This is very normal and should not be a cause for concern. The spotting that you might experience can be either pink or brown in color, but it can also appear in the form of a yellow discharge. You may start to experience this type of spotting about five days after fertilization. You may also find that this light spotting is accompanied with some slight abdominal cramping due to the embryo implanting into the uterine wall.

Ovulation may cause the body temperature to rise for many women. When an egg is fertilized, it can even cause the body temperature to stay elevated. This is called an elevated basal body temperature, which may involve only a rise by a single degree or even less. An elevated basal body temperature is a good sign that the conception was successful.

Early signs of pregnancy can mirror the signs of an upcoming menstrual period. This is why some of these symptoms go unnoticed. However, hormone levels begin to change drastically when you are pregnant. One interesting change happening in your body is that of producing HCG or human chorionic gonadotropin. The this hormone causes you to feel the swelling tenderness in the breasts.

The dramatic increase in your bodies hormones can lead to things beyond breast tenderness. You may find that your body is needing to urinate more frequently. This is not a symptom that will go away as your pregnancy progresses. The truth is that as the baby grows it will start to put pressure onto your bladder which causes you to need to go to the bathroom more frequently.

Missing a menstrual period is the most obvious sign of being pregnant, although missing a period can occur besides being pregnant. Things like stress, illness and hormone imbalances are other reasons for missing your period. However, when you are consistent in your menstrual cycle, it can be an indication that you are pregnant.

Since these various symptoms are possible signs of pregnancy, you will want to take a pregnancy test as soon as possible. However, you should know that home pregnancy tests are not always reliable. Therefore, when you are ready to find out if you are expecting a baby or not, you need to consult with your OB-GYN or family physician so he or she can give you a blood test to find out if you really are pregnant or not.
