Losing Weight for Your Wedding, Do’s and Dont’s
Posted by Ricardo D Argence at Feb 19th, 2009 in Nutrition
For many people a wedding is going to be one of the best times in their lives, they are going to be happy, and they are going to enjoy each and every moment of it. Yet some people stress, trying to make sure that they have all of the details right, and that they can fit into those perfectly tailored clothes.
You will want to look the best you possibly can for an important date such as a wedding. In fact, getting healthy can actually take away some of the stress that you have, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be healthy on your wedding day. There are appropriate ways to lose weight, and things you shouldn’t do as well.
Be realistic in your weightloss goals - try to lose too much, and you’ll only succeed in getting stressed out before your wedding. Set realistic goals for your diet, don’t try to lose more weight than is healthy in the time you have available. Discuss your weight with your doctor and tell him or her what weight you would like to be, as well as the date of your upcoming wedding. Setting a reasonable goal with the help of your doctor, you can reach it.
Don’t starve yourself in the weeks leading up to the wedding in order to lose those last few pounds. You are already going to be stressed out enough, so not eating is going to make it even worse. You’ll be crabby and worse, you’ll be unhealthy. This will open up your body to the possibility of getting sick, and chances are good that it will happen right as you are about to take those vows.
Don’t let your emotions get in the way of your eating, in other words, don’t eat too much and don’t eat too little. Continue eating regular, good sized meals, and try to use up all of that nervous energy that you have in exercising instead of obsessing about food.
When you are trying to get in shape for a wedding, do exercise. You probably already have all of that nervous energy, so put it to good use and keep moving. Working out with your spouse to be can be a great way for you to keep doing things together, and if you do something like ballroom dancing lessons, you’ll get in better shape and you’ll also be doing something productive for the wedding as well.
Do find a good balance when it comes to food. Eating healthily is a great idea, but that shouldn’t mean that you aren’t allowed to eat the cake when you go to test out your wedding cake baker. Enjoy those snacks at your bridal parties, and have those drinks with your girlfriends as you do your last night out. The most important thing about your wedding is that you are happy and healthy, and someone who is happy and healthy is going to be a much better bride as well.

Even if I risk being unpopular I would like to say this: A jumprope without rope may be pretty stupid to hear, BUT, they are not selling this alone, it comes with dvds with workouts, and jumping rope is not easy for people overweight with no prior experience, this is the perfect example of a product that make people that want to exercise but are too lazy to do it, say: "hey that could be me!" then, for 50$ buying a mean to wash their guilt for being fat for a week, after the excitment wears off they are ready to buy another product! All of this just to say: "Why the fuck I didn’t think about it first?!"
