Meditation with the Aid of Brainwave Entrainment

by Spencer Gabato

Are you finding it hard to meditate? Have you surrendered because you can’t reach the meditation frequencies and stay there for some period of time? Meditation can be difficult for you and brainwave entrainment can assist you achieve that state in a matter of minutes or days - not weeks or months.

When we are relaxing, daydreaming or listening to a monotonous lecturer, our brainwaves can go to the lower meditative states. This is not the ideal meditative state though because the mental chatter, which is best subdued to benefit from meditation, is still coming strong. The great storehouse of knowledge and creativity of the subconscious mind may not surface to the conscious awareness because of this mental chatter.

A common technique to achieve the lower brainwave state is to close your eyes and notice every sensation you feel when you take in air and exhale. Notice the air passing into your nostrils. Notice it enter your lungs. Notice how your lungs and diaphragm expand. Notice also everything you feel when you exhale. That is one good way of eliminating the mental chatter, you fill your mind with a limited number of thoughts.

Thinking of a simple object can also bring you to a desired meditative state. Imagine a basketball in your mind. Imagine a single light source coming from the left. Let the ball rotate. Notice the shadows of the bumps and grooves create. Notice the smell and color of the ball. With practice this can bring you to a lower brainwave frequency.

Whatever technique you use, it requires practice and you may not succeed instantly. The mental chatter is so domineering to the untrained mind that lowering its dominion can prove to be a hard|difficult task. Negative thoughts such as fear can occupy most of your brain chatter and it is very unhealthy and can prevent you from reaching the meditative state.

By listening to sounds created with brainwave entrainment, the brain follows the frequency of the sound producing the targeted brain wave frequency. A well advertised brainwave entrainment is binaural beats but it requires headphones to make it effective.

Monaural and isochronic tones can provide you with brainwave entrainment which does not require headphones but it still is better to use one so as to limit the input of external noise which can disrupt the entrainment.

Among the three technologies, isochronic tones are more effective. You can reach the alpha level quicker but the tone may not be appealing to some people. All you will hear is a toot toot toot sound similar to a helicopter.

With the use of isochronic tones or other brainwave entrainment technology, one can shorten the time it takes to be in the meditative state. Other people though cannot get it the first time but after a few sessions, it becomes easier.

Want to relieve yourself of unnecessary stress in your day to day life? Need to be more productive in your work? Need more focus and concentration to accomplish your tasks? Meditation can help you with this and brainwave entrainment can make you achieve it a lot faster.
