New Fitness Trends You Can’t Miss

by Elle Jaye

Are you tired of the same boring fitness routine? Has exercise become more of a chore than an enjoyable past time? If so, then it’s time to learn about some of the more interesting ways that others are now getting their heart rate up and sweating off the pounds.

Ditch the dumbbells and get a more efficient workout with kettlebells. Roundish kettle-shaped weights made of pure cast iron are designed with a solid handle. They come in a variety of sizes, each with a different weight. You should probably start with a smaller sized bell to get a feel for the movements and then advance to larger ones.

By holding onto the handles and swinging the weights with both hands in different directions you can work your entire body, build up massive sweat, and get rid of ton of calories even in brief sessions.

There are many kettlebell fitness DVDs on the market and you can purchase the actual bells at most sporting goods stores or through a myriad of online retailers.

Dancing has always been a favorite type of exercise since everyone can do it, but the sensual burlesque dance has now hit the market big time. Hip hop is starting to die down some as more women are seeking ways to get in touch with their body while working it out.

This is a great way to feel great about yourself while improving your body. Many women make it more entertaining by working out in their heels or even a feather boa. If fun is what you need to stick with a workout, this one you have to at least try once!

TV Show Workouts: Of course there have always been the popular Biggest Loser workouts on the market, but there are other TV shows starting to make an appearance on the exercise scene. The latest DVD is from Lisa Rinna teaching unique blends of hip hop and ballroom dancing as you see on Dancing with the Stars.

Kim Kardashian also has a new workout series as a spin off from her reality TV show. Not only are these really good workouts that are rather unique, they do deliver great calorie-burning sessions.

Last but definitely not least, weighted hula hoops are growing in popularity as well. Even if you were not big on the hoop as a child, chances are you will get the core workout of your life with one of these. They are a little different from your childhood hoops because they are made to be different weights, but the spinning motion around the hips and waist is the same.

There are DVDs for the hoop now and many gyms are now offering classes, but you could make up your own play sessions and get in shape with this product on your own.

If you are just starting out with a fitness routine make sure to keep up with the latest trends and shake things up often. If you do the same thing all the time your body will become too efficient and burn less calories, and you will probably get bored and start skipping workouts!
