Should You Get An Ionic Pro Compact Air Purifier?
Posted by Justin Mann at Feb 11th, 2009 in Allergies
It is often tempting to think about buying one of the smaller variations of air filters to do your bit towards making the air we all inhale cleaner. An ionic air purifier is cheaper and small enough to use for a single room. In fact, you can even use it in the car if you so wish.
The cream of the small filters is commonly thought to be the Ionic Pro Compact Air Purifier. They not only come with good advertising and warranties but they look good too.
Do You Suffer With Bronchitis?
Many sufferers of bronchitis state they find breathing much easier with an Ionic Pro Compact as part of their approach to managing their bronchitis. Don’t forget, an Ionic Pro Compact air purifier is not a substitute for your medication or for the advice of your physician, and your efforts to keep your home free of dust and as clean as possible will still need the same attention.
Do You Share a Home With a Smoker?
If you are a non smoker, you will be aware that entering a smoke filled room is pretty much the same as a slap across the face. Of course, the best solution to this problem would be to get the smoker to give it up, but if this is not likely to happen, then you could likely make use of an Ionic Pro Compact air purifier. The smoke particles which contain the smell are big enough to be easily captured by the device.
If you don’t fall into either of the above two categories then an Ionic Pro Compact will not make any significant difference to the air you breathe in. In fact, an Ionic Pro Compact air purifier may end up causing you more harm than good.
This is due to the fact that this kind of air purifier emits ozone which in large amounts is a harmful toxin. Research has shown that individuals with healthy lungs who used an ionic air purifier in their homes showed positive results when tested for ozone damage years after the event. Ozone is also detrimental to the environment.
Ionic Pro makes some doubtful declarations about their products. They claim that their products are capable of filtering out flu and cold germs. This is essentially not possible with the technology to be had in this day and age. The dimensions of the bacteria are much too little to be captured by an ionic air purifier. They cannot back up any of these statements about their products being capable of filtering out germs in the air.
For the majority of people, an Ionic Pro Compact air purifier is simply not worth the purchase.

Kenmore is the brand I grew up with. I'm not established to be buying large appliances myself, but when I do, they'll probably be Kenmore because those things seemed to last forever and I can't think of them really breaking or malfunctioning ever.
my joke: i think the word asthma was invented for people with a lisp, if your offended by that joke then i am deeply ‘thorry’

60000 alternative-energy vehicles to hit roads by 2012
China Daily, China
… to small and medium-sized companies involved in energy conservation and environmental protection. It would also give tax benefits and direct subsidies to the production, sale and use of alternative-energy vehicles and “green” home appliances, he said.
Dave Blevins, BDM chose the X-Wedge for the Wolf because that motor was developed by S&S in concert with BDM. BDM is S&S’s biggest customer and when they decided they wanted to develop a new motor that could possibly correct some of the inherent problems of the EVO, they went to BDM to gauge interest and see if there would be a platform for it. And by the way, the first X-Wedge looked like an air compressor pump. It was the BDM designers and engineers that sculpted it into what it is today. That should also answer an earlier comment that BDM doesn’t design anything. I guess they don’t unless you consider the designs of the foot controls, hand controls, grips, pegs, fender struts, fenders, fuel tanks, oil tanks, triple trees, exhaust system, air cleaner cover, coil cover, seats, primary drive, wheel designs, belt guards, fender mounts, rotor carriers, motor mounts, speedo mounts, electrical side covers, wiring harnesses, and the frames and swingarms (every tube, gusset plate, axle block and cross-member) which they also manufacture utilizing robotic welders. While it may be true that they don’t manufacture each of these items, they do design every one of them in CAD and then have them built to print. They also powder coat their frames in-house and have their own polish shop, body shop, and paint facility which turns out some of the finest paint (be it a solid color or heavy with graphics) in the industry. To me, that makes their bikes much more custom than the guy who strips down an old Sportster frame and then covers it with catalog parts.
