Probably one of the worse feelings in the world is sitting down to take an exam when you know doing good means getting a job or not. Having anxiety while taking an exam is common, but if your test anxiety is so overwhelming, it can actually influence your results.
This bit of information hopefully will provide some facts on test anxiety, and what are some strategies for dealing with test anxiety. Let’s face it, everybody gets nervous with a big test, so don’t feel alone.
Well, I probably have to think back around my school years when i took an entrance test. That was truly a horrible feeling. If I didn’t do well on that test, then I wasn’t getting in that schoo, it was that simple. My nerves what shot, and even though I prepared for months, it didn’t help the matter.
Being a bundle of nerves in the morning of the exam, I had no appetite and couldn’t eat a thing. Not that I was really starving to begin with, but I should have put something in my stomach. Well the test went on, and so did the test anxiety. My stomach was growling and people were telling me to leave the room it was so bad.
Well anyway, I didn’t succeed that first time around, but now I learned a few things that might help you when taking a test. Oh and by the way, this isn’t medical advice, just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.
Could a doctor have helped me or other people in the same boat? Perhaps, but I still like to try the natural approach most of the time. I will try to give you some tips that had helped me on future test taking.
I don’t think I will make that “empty stomach” mistake again. If your exam is in the beginning of the day, then think “light breakfast”, and nothing too greasy or sugary. You might want to bring some protein bars and some fruit if they will allow you to take a break and eat it.
Be careful though, as some test sites won’t allow you to bring anything in. Therefore your breakfast must be able to hold you through the entire examination. Wow, talk about test anxiety.
Well, I just thought I would give you a few pointers on test taking strategies. Feel free to visit our Free wesite where we can give you some more help. Don’t sweat it alone, get some help if you need it.
