The Dating Scene After 30

Most people think of dating as something one does as a teenager and perhaps in one’s twenties. Not so these days. Lots of people date when in their thirties, having delayed creating a family in order to have a career, and actually there are plenty of people on the dating scene in their forties or fifties or older. These days it isn’t unheard of for people to get married when in their eighties or nineties! No reason to live life alone because of divorce or death of a spouse.

To get a date and find a spouse, people want to look their best. We think of older movie stars and wish we could look as good as they do. But they have unlimited resources to spend in pursuit of youth, and plenty of time to spare for such programs.

There are many things you can do to improve your appearance without having the resources of a movie star. Exercise and some elementary hygiene of course improve personal appearance and cost very little.

A healthy and sensible diet will improve one’s appearance and also improve mood and vitality. Subsisting on beer and pizza makes one look old quickly. You don’t have to implement a strange or complicated diet - just eat sensibly.

But let us take a look at what changes in the body as we age and causes appearance to deteriorate. Hair loss, pot belly, wrinkly skin and lessened libido are all things we think of when we think of symptoms of aging. But what actually occurs in the body is the glands of the endocrine system start to slack off production of hormones at around age 30 (sometimes younger), and the dwindling supply of one or more hormones throws the body’s systems out of balance.

Hormones are responsible for keeping the body functioning. When the endocrine systems begins to produce insufficient quantities, symptoms of age begin to appear. This phenomenon occurs gradually - fewer hormones, then more symptoms of age.

A good physician will order laboratory tests be done that can determine which hormones are in short supply, and the exact amounts lacking. The solution, which has been extensively tested and is common practice in Europe, is to replace those missing hormones with bio-identical hormones. Bio-identical means that the hormones are the exact same as the ones the body produces. Do not be satisfied with a prescription for a libido hormone only - estrogen or testosterone. All the hormones must work together.

That’s not good enough. A good doctor will do laboratory tests to determine all of the hormones that need replacement and in what amount. And such a doctor will prescribe a gradually increasing amount of all the hormones necessary to slow, stop or in some cases even reverse aging. You can enjoy a more youthful body - and regain a brighter outlook about finding a new mate!
