Treatment for Thrush - Drug Free

by Petra Spink

What actually is thrush? Also known as yeast infection or candidiasis. It stems from a natural fungus normally known as being harmless and generally associated with women (where it grows on or in their bodies). However, when this natural fungus grows excessively, it causes thrush (vaginal candidiasis). Discomfort from this is usually irritation and soreness of the vulva. Some women may notice a change in their vaginal discharge but not in all cases of sufferers.

Over three quarters of the human population have the natural fungus - candida albicans - in their bodies along with countless others. The develpoment of thrush from this natural fungus is not exclusive to the vagina but can also be present in stomach, mouth and colon. When there is no abundance of this natural fungus there is no threat at all to the human body.

Thrush can be found in the male genital area as well as females. The transmission of this infection, as well as what sex it comes from is not exclusive to women. Men also can be the origin of thrush and pass it on to a sexual partner. The thinking that it is only women who spread thrush is not true.

In rare examples, thrush can develop into a grave medical problem. Although the chances of this are relatively small it is always best to treat this infection as swiftly as you can. You can seek medical advice and there is also excellent natural remedies available.

Infections need to be treated. Most infections relating to the vagina if left untreated can only worsen your problem. Symptoms such as irritation and inflammation can spread to the buttocks. Vaginal infections can cause severe pain when passing urine and can make intercourse very painful. It is advised not to engage in intercourse if you have thrush in case you spread the infection.

The medication that your doctor can prescribe can have severe side effects such as nausea, diarrhoea, and dizziness. Contraception that you may use can also be damaged as creams used to treat thrush can corrode the rubber of condoms and diaphragms.

You can take measures to stop thrush occurring in the first place. This strategy must be approached with caution as a certain amount of yeast is naturally required for a healthy vagina in the first place. Trying to second guess how much you have in your body is a little risky for some. Plus, if you already have thrush then preventative measures are a little late in the day and a cure is required.

It is not impossible to stop thrush in the first place. However, since vaginal well being relies on a natural amount of yeast anyway it is fairly impossible to try to analyse how much one already has and how much you should prevent. If you have thrush already you should concentrate on treating it.

"Chopsticks should not be left standing vertically in a bowl of rice or other food. Any stick-like object pointed upward resembles the incense sticks that some Asians use as offerings to deceased family members; certain funerary rites designate offerings of food to the dead using standing chopsticks."via: and personal experience

“A significant majority of Americans, polls repeatedly tell us, list terrorism as one of their greatest fears. Like most of our media-inspired interests and worries, however, this one has little basis in reality.

In actual fact, unless you’re serving in a war zone, the most dangerous person you’re ever likely to encounter – by several orders of magnitude – is the one you see in the mirror every morning.”

I have always hated Blockbuster for the whole Showgirls debacle. I’m not sure how many other directors they did that to, but it was unforgivable, even if Showgirls *was* a crappy movie. Imagine my self-hatred when I later went to work for BB as "seasonal help" over Thanksgiving and Christmas…I feel like I need to take a shower now…
